Using the Springulator^®

Fast & Easy Spring Calculations

With online, iOS and Android app versions, the Springulator offers seven robust, easy-to-use spring calculators.

The Springulator(R) allows you to calculate compression springs, extension springs and torsion springs in just a few easy steps. Simply select one of our spring calculators, fill in the required fields, and the Springulator provides a variety of spring design results.

From checking stress to determining weight and size, our spring calculators are a fast and accurate tool to assist engineers, designers and purchasing agents.

The Springulator Interface

To begin using the Springulator, select which type of spring you want to calculate:

Compression springs – one load, two load, rate based or dimensional
Extension springs
Torsion springs

Fill in the required data and select your material type. App users can turn their device to the horizontal view to see a variety of spring diagrams. Hit the "Calculate" button and the Springulator results screen will automatically appear.

At the bottom of the spring specs, you will see if your spring design falls within the allowable stress ranges for the material you selected. This will help you determine spring functionality. Click the "stress chart" button for a graphical representation of your spring's stresses.

Extension Spring Calculator users can also use our integrated Initial Tension slider to adjust the amount of tension the spring is designed with. Hold and drag the slider, and watch the results in yellow change.

When using our spring calculators, click the "back arrow" in the upper left corner to return to the previous screen.

Using the Results

If you'd like to export the Springulator's results, simply click the "Email Results To" button and enter the address you wish to send to.

Springulator also provides fast and easy quoting for the manufacturing of your spring. Click the "Request a Quote" button, and all your spring's specifications will automatically be sent to CSPI Spring. Enter your contact information and one of our representatives will contact you. The Springulator is intended for industry professionals, and knowledge of spring design is required for use. Checks and error messages have been built into the Springulator for springs that are not feasible.
